If you ask me, the best bet would be to apply some of the ideas in the 10GUI system to a larger “architect style” touch screen surface, instead of mimicking the current desktop / keyboard system.
Michael Arrington from TechCrunch writes: “The problem [of an ergonomically acceptable touch screen] was actually solved centuries ago. The proper layout for a desktop touch screen machine is the architect’s desk… a slightly inclined desktop that is a touch screen for your computer.”
If the multitouch pad they’re using in this 10GUI demo simply became a virtual window on a larger, table wide multitouch surface, you could control the whole thing with that pad for faster interaction… or touch the windows directly, opening up even more possible combinations for multi-touch interaction.
Right? OK. Someone go make this… and give me one at a discount.
